Quick Tax Season Check-In

If you sold a home in 2025, your accountant is probably going to ask for your final Settlement Statement.
You might also hear it called a Closing Statement or Closing Disclosure—it’s all the same thing.

That document matters because it shows the final sale price, selling costs like commissions and title fees, and any property tax adjustments.
All of that helps figure out your net proceeds and whether there are any tax implications.

If you bought a home in 2025, you’ll want your Closing Disclosure too, along with your mortgage interest, any points you paid, and your property tax info.

And if you’re thinking, “I have no idea where that paperwork is,” don’t worry.
Your title company almost always has a digital copy and can send it to you.
